Frequently Asked Questions about Italian Holiday Bridges
Everything you need to know to plan your time off with maximum leverage.
How does the holiday bridge calculation work?
The calculator analyzes official Italian public holidays, weekends, and company closures. It computes 'leverage' (the ratio between total consecutive days off and actual leave days spent) to find the most efficient combinations.
Which Italian public holidays are included?
It includes all official national holidays (New Year, Epiphany, Easter, Easter Monday, Liberation Day, Labor Day, Republic Day, Assumption, St. Francis (4 October), All Saints, Immaculate Conception, Christmas, St. Stephen) plus an optional local patron saint day.
How are company closures handled?
You can specify whether a closure date is a 'free day' (company closed without deducting leave) or a 'mandatory day' (deducted from your leave budget), adapting the calculation to your employer's rules.
How many leave days am I legally entitled to in Italy?
Italian law guarantees a minimum of 4 weeks of paid annual leave (art. 2109 of the Civil Code and art. 10 of Legislative Decree 66/2003); the exact number of days is set by your collective agreement (CCNL), usually between 22 and 26 days a year. This is not legal advice: for the deadlines and rules in detail, read our guide to Italian leave rights (in Italian).
